It’s February 2003. An alluring and determined CIA Case Officer, June Cohen, must flawlessly execute an unsanctioned plan of action or the U.S. will invade Iraq to search for weapons of mass destruction.
She coerces Robaire Assaly, a Los Angeles based DEA Confidential Informant, to take part in her elaborate scheme. Robaire agrees, however, in doing so, he must betray his long-time DEA Agent handler, Gary Lowery, to get what she needs. Robaire soon realizes June has tricked him into taking the blame for stealing a Stinger missile, which she pulled off right under the nose of the hapless FBI.
The duped FBI and Gary desperately want Robaire. He's now frantically on the run as an international fugitive with the FBI and Gary relentlessly pursuing him and the stolen Stinger before it is used against an unknown target. However, June finds Robaire first before he can reveal the CIA's involvement to the Feds.
Advance Praise for Stinger:
A superbly written work of thriller fiction! The author immediately draws the reader in and never let’s go. Stinger is absolutely believable, a story about what might have been shortly before the second invasion of Iraq. A breathless opening depicting a kidnapping, and the heroic efforts of American government agencies which orchestrated a daring undercover operation. A real whodunit! Gregory D. Lee’s many years of experience in law enforcement is evident in this fantastically believable story which is highly entertaining and credible.

Stinger, by Gregory D. Lee, is a pulse-pounding immersion into a world of spy craft, intrigue, and twisted conspiracies. The suspense built from start to finish as this reader struggled to winnow out the good guys from the bad guys, never sure which was which. As the tale progressed, I grudgingly began to root for the unlikely hero. Much of the action takes place in the Middle East, and Lee’s depiction of the region is spot-on. Take it from one who lived and worked there for 20 years. A stiff Stoli is recommended to take the edge off the suspense, but anyway you approach this adventure, you will not be disappointed. Fans of Le Carre and Fleming will feel right at home with this 5 star read!

A walk-off grand slam home run! In his debut novel, Gregory D. Lee uses his 40+ years as a military and law enforcement experience to write a scintillating international thriller. Lee integrates espionage, police procedure, criminal investigation, terrorism, U.S. bureaucratic competitiveness, multiculturalism, and historical events into unexpected surprises—a real page-turner! The intrigue, deception, maneuvering, betrayal, disappointment, and exhaustion are palpable and rebarbative. Hoping for a sequel.
